The Need for an Outreach Musallah: Sister Martha, a convert herself, has experienced firsthand
the tremendous demand for a place that would provide for the religious/cultural/social needs for
the convert community. She and her husband Prof. Munshi Shams had been working in
personally and with other Islamic organizations to serve those needs. After working towards that
goal for over 20 years, and painfully witnessing both the plight of the convert community and the
isolation of the Muslim community from the mainstream society, they took the initiative to
establish the convert-care and outreach center, Al Ansar Society.
Establishment History: Al Ansar Started its journey on May 01, 2019 when the location was
leased. Non-profit entity was formed on June 20, 2019.
A Vision for Excellence: Al Ansar will strive to create the highest standard in helping and
integrating the converts to the wider Muslim community, building bridges between the Muslim
and other faith groups and serving the most pressing needs of the local and global communities.
